It still outperforms most of its competition on several levels. In 2008, the QX56 received quite a few enhancements including a new grill, new fog lights and new rear and front fascia construction. It also carries over a newly designed rack on the roof and now shows off its standard 20 inch alloy wheels. The instrumentation cluster has also been redesigned to be more convenient and aesthetically pleasing.

The 2010 Infiniti QX56 price does not hint at its bounty of stock and optional features.

Model name designations for the Infiniti include one letter for coupes and sedans and two for SUVs with a number reflecting engine displacement. As an example, the Q45, Infiniti’s flagship sedan through 2006, has a 4.5 liter engine. An “x” following the number signifies an all-wheel drive model car. Today, in addition to the US and Canada, Infiniti is marketed in Mexico, South Korea, and the Middle East, with plans to expand into Europe in 2007 and the UK in 2008.

It was the popular Q45 that lead Infiniti to take part of the luxury market. The vehicle included a class leading (at the time) 278 hp V8 engine, four wheel steering, the first active suspension system offered on a motor vehicle, and numerous interior comfort features.

Early Infinitis had unique platforms, but most are currently based on existing Nissan models. Some are spiffed up versions of existing Nissans sold in the same market, while others are rebranded models from the Japanese market where Nissan’s line includes high-end luxury vehicles.

It was first introduced to the United States in 1989, to offer direct competition to the luxury lines of rival companies Toyota and Honda (Lexus and Acura, respectively). A series of Zen-inspired “rocks and trees” advertisements was part of a campaign for brand awareness, but the vehicles experienced production delays, and no cars were shown, and the ad campaign ran longer than originally planned.

Land Rovers or the Cadillac Escalade, and at a lower price. The QX56 is styled with a nice bodyline that flares out as it reaches the back quarter panel; giving this SUV its tough look and commanding presence on the road.

The Infiniti boasts a powerful 5.1 liter, 320 horsepower, V-8 engine that allows it nearly 400 ft-lb of torque with a towing capacity of up to 9000 lbs. on the 2WD, while the impressive AWD model can haul up to 8900 lbs. The transmission is a beefy 5-speed automatic that is electronically controlled to adapt to the driver’s style of driving.

The QX56 comes standard with a power moonroof, complete with tinted glass, as well as a roof rack and running boards. Consumers will also be impressed with the standard heated mirrors, Sonar System in the rear, and leveling suspension. Infiniti has also equipped this vehicle with several safety features, such as ABS brakes, traction control and airbags mounted in the front, side and roof.

The interior of the Infiniti QX56 is luxuriously decked out with leather appointed, heated front and second-row seating and leather and polished aluminum trim. The ergonomically designed instrument panel is enhanced with voice recognition as well as Infiniti’s touch screen enabled Hard Drive System. Infiniti’s Music Box system allows storage for a maximum of 2,900 selections while the Bose 12-speaker sound system offers high quality sound which is tuned to the acoustics of the cabin.

Infiniti has gone above and beyond in the QX56 by offering standard features such as power vent windows for third-row passengers, front and rear climate controls, overhead storage, a second console for mid-cabin passengers and 12 beverage holders throughout the vehicle. The 2008 QX56 also offers the driver a heated steering wheel, illuminated keyless entry, and a Bluetooth-capable phone system.

For the starting price, of $52,450, the 2008 Infiniti QX56 does provide value that exceeds that of the Land Rover Sport for its lack of standard amenities. And, though it only offers a slightly better mpg rating of 12 city and 18 highway, it is definitely a better choice.

Besides the G37, the class of 2-door, 4-passenger luxury sports coupes is the domain of some legendary members, including BMW’s 335i. This year, a change of guard is in order due to the strong marks the Infiniti G37 is earning. Ever since the G35 hit car show venues, its beautiful styling drew a lot of attention. This year, G37’s beauty goes even deeper. All six option packages for the G37 offer some impressive features including the Technology Package with Intelligent Cruise Control which maintains a follow distance from the vehicle ahead. The 4-Wheel Active Steer Package (4WAS) enables the rear wheels to steer up to 1 degree, directed by sensors.

Pulling away from traffic on mountain curves is a worthy test of the G37’s new suspension and power. Cornering is G37 strength, with stiffer springs and substantial sway bars; it puts the side bolsters on the seats to the test. The Infiniti keeps you in touch with the machine by presenting the driver and passengers with cockpit silence broken only by the impressive exhaust note.

The 2008 Infiniti G37 is equipped for collision protection with driver and front passenger airbags, side impact and curtain airbags, and all-important crumple zones to prevent intrusion into the cockpit in the event of a collision. Brake Assist, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes and stability control are standard. Many successful automotive models are unable to improve on their individual successes, but for 2008, it looks like the Infiniti G37 has rolled out another winner.

The base engine is a 3.7L 330hp V6 that unleashes some serious power. You can pass other vehicles just by thinking about it - that’s how easy it accelerates. Infiniti VVEL technology electronically controls valve lift and the timing to effectively broaden the torque curve. You can confidently remain in constant control with the Infiniti Intelligent All Wheel Drive system. By monitoring the vehicle’s speed, throttle position and wheelspin, it adapts to and changes with the road conditions to maximize its own performance and optimize your family’s safety levels.

The braking system is founded by massive 14-inch front rotors and 4-piston frontal calipers that grab super quick, but with finite force. This means that your stopping power is optimized as well as being extra safe. Maintaining control is easier than ever in the new 2009 G37.

The 4-Wheel Active Steer system on the Infiniti G37 acts to maximize predictability and reliability in steering by instantaneously adjusting both the steering angle and ratio in integrated conjunction with the rear wheel angle. This is Infiniti-exclusive technology and it is causing an industry-wide stir. It makes you feel a sense of fluid control as you gracefully maneuver through even the hairiest of corners.

A 7-speed multi-modal automatic transmission is included to offer you more choices for better control when you may need it. The highest gear is set to lessen rpms and therefore increase fuel efficiency. You have other tranny mode options as well. Switch to the manual Downshift Rev Matching mode to utilize the magnesium paddle shifters for a more hands-on experience. Or, choose the 6-speed manual mode and get in total control.

Electroluminescent knobs and gauges accent the Katana sword aluminum infused interior. Handcrafted controls inspire you as you realize the artistic innovation that was necessary to create them. Everything in the cabin is high class. The look, feel, smell and sound all combine to make you understand just how classy these G37s really are.

The 12-way power adjustable and preference-memorizing drivers seats make you feel like a king. Even the longest journeys are made comfortable and restful. Torso and thigh bolstering features accommodate every driver individually. There’s also a thigh extension that you can power adjust to match your exact build. Every element is pre-considered by the Infiniti G37 engineers to optimize you connection with your car and with the road.

The 2009 Infiniti G37 is definitely one of the finer vehicles on the roads today. Affordable pricing makes these cars very difficult to pass up when selecting the one for you. True artistic design and craftsmanship, powerful performance, incredible handling, luxurious features and very sharp looks make the G37 an excellent choice for all equally.

It was first introduced to the North American audience at the 2007 New York International Auto Show. Like the G35 that preceded it, the 2008 Infiniti G37 is a 2-door coupe. It is likewise marketed as the G Coupe and, as such, is more of a second-generation automobile than it is a replacement of the G35. Nissan is the parent company of Infiniti and there are plans for a 2009 hardtop convertible Infiniti G37.

The G37 from Infiniti is classified as a luxury sport compact car and offers consumers a load of impressive features - both interior and exterior. Although it appears similar to the 2007 G35, the aerodynamic scheme of the body has been totally redesigned. It features a 3.7L 330 hp V6 engine that is accompanied by the buyer’s choice of a 6-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission. As you might guess, these G37s can get up and go, right now.

Some of the more notable standard features for the Infiniti G37 are its Intelligent Key System with Push-Button Ignition, dual temperature controls with microfiltration system, fold-down rear seat with trunk access and 11 speaker Bose stereo system that can make your ears bleed. Besides those, it’s your standard luxury Infiniti. Infiniti vehicles are all popular sellers because they have come to define the expected standards of innovative engineering, quality materials and the ultimate in warranties and customer love.

Very notably, the G37 sport coupe comes stock with the highly-innovative VVEL (Variable Valve Event and Lift) system. What that does is to constantly monitor the engine’s work and automatically adjust its performance to maximize fuel efficiency. Good for your pocket; good for the environment. The 2008 G37 has a 5 hp boost over the 2007 Infiniti G35 to boot. Nice!

There are three trim levels to choose from: the Base, the Journey and the Sport 6MT. The MSRP dials in at $31,700. You really harness lightning when you embrace the speed and power presented to you with the Infiniti G37. It’s the whole deal in one tight, sporty package. Luxury, speed and style are all Infiniti givens. Add in the Infiniti reputation for dependability, sleek engineering, fuel efficiency and catering customer support and you have an Asian recipe for an incredible delicacy.

There is no predictable end in sight for the G37. With next year’s G37 hardtop convertible anxiously awaited, this luxurious flash of speed will undoubtedly be around for a long time. The Infiniti G37 is an ever-evolving experiment in blissful extravagance. Don’t miss your chance to get in on the trend-setting nature that is Infiniti.

It was a front wheel drive car with five manual gears. You could buy the coupe or sedan with automatic gears, seats made of leather and a roof made of glass that could be opened or closed with the touch of a button. In 1994 a touring version was added to the lineup which had seats made of black leather, bucket seats in the front and foldable back seats. In 1996, the production of the G series was stopped. The second generation Infiniti G Series made its debut in 1999. It was taller and longer then the first generation vehicle and it was powered by a 2.0 Liter engine having four cylinders. It came in two versions, entry level and Touring model, which had manual or automatic gears. In 2000, the engine got a bit more powerful and the window on the driver’s side became one touch. The Touring version of the G model was dropped in 2002.

In 2003, the third generation Infiniti G model with the nomenclature G35 made its debut. It came in two versions, a coupe and a sedan. Both versions derived their power from a V6 engine had first a gear system with six automatic gears then with a gear system with 6 manual gears. Both the sedan and coupe were equipped with anti lock brakes, airbags in the front, and a CD player located in the dashboard. In 2004, the sedan was equipped with an alternate all wheel drive system which had automatic gears. The rear wheel drive sedans were equipped with six automatic gears then with a gear system with 6 manual gears. In 2005 the horsepower ratings of both the sedan and coupe were increased. In 2006, a system was introduced where the vehicle could be entered and started without the use of keys.

V8 version of their midsize vehicle. Nissan, itself, started out as DAT motors in 1914, soon became Datsun and, in time, Nissan.

Infiniti started in 1989 with the first FX models replacing the QX4 in the 2003 model year. From the start the FX was larger than most midsize cars, as Infiniti sought to incorporate some aspects of the SUV, as well as some aspects of high performance vehicles, into it.

The numbers in the FX models refer to the engine size. It has always come in both six-cylinder and eight-cylinder models. Initially it was the 35 and the 45, which designated the 3.5 liter V6 and the 4.5 liter V8. The V8 was 320 horsepower and both engines were coupled with a five-speed automatic transmission with a “manual mode.”

Not much changed from the initial offering through 2008. There was a minor refresh in 2006 and, of course, updating the standard and optional features was ongoing. But the engines remained the same. In fact, mileage dropped from 15 miles per gallon in the city and 19 on the highway to 13 in the city and 17 on the highway during the first generation of the FX V8.

The FX35 still carries the same size engine, though improved, but the large FX was given a new engine and a new name beginning in 2009. From that time, it became the Infiniti FX50 and sported a 5.0 liter 390 horsepower engine. The transmission on both models is now a seven-speed automatic with overdrive. Mileage has actually improved with the horsepower and the FX50 gets 14 miles per gallon in city driving and 20 miles per gallon on the highway.

The exterior of the FX was also substantially upgraded for the 2009 model year, though it retains the catlike look from previous models, described by the company as looking like a “bionic cheetah.” From the start the V8 FXs have been all-wheel drive, while the V6 has offered the choice of all-wheel or rear wheel.

The next step for the Infiniti FX50 is the FX50 Sport, due out sometime in the 2010 model year. It will keep the 5.0 liter engine, but supercharge it to 490 horsepower.

NHTSA safety ratings are not available for the FX50. IIHS ratings are G straight across the board, which is the best rating they offer.

As noted, the Infiniti FX50 is a luxury vehicle, and it has a luxury price, starting at $58,400. That’s well above the price for most midsize cars, of course, but not so much for luxury cars.
